Larry has spoken on the power of personal storytelling, how to engage an audience, and how a simple idea can make a big difference at companies such as ESPN, Google, Dell and Shutterfly, foundations and nonprofits, and schools across the country.

Upcoming Activities at Senior Adult Center at Pelham Manor

Sunday, November 18, a special outing for Pelham Manor residents and other seniors will serve as a celebration of the holidays and take the place of the annual Turkey Dinner and the Holiday Brunch.
The group will travel by motor coach to Grand Rapids, Ohio, to the elegant Nazareth Hall for a special meal.  Nazareth Hall was a military school that has been converted to a banquet hall and elegant dining facility, with very interesting architecture in a woodsy setting across from the Maumee River. There have been stories of strange sightings and eerie occurrences, but the smells and sights from the kitchen are the most interesting to us.
We will leave Pelham Manor at 11 a.m. The cost is $5, which includes transportation, food and maybe a ghost story or two.  Please make reservations early by calling the Senior Adult Center at 419-531-2119.

Mondays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Pelham Manor card room, blood pressure and blood sugar checks are done by a nurse from Senior Independence. All seniors are welcome to take advantage of this free service, and to enjoy a bagel and a cup of coffee with friends. No appointment is necessary, and it’s free.

Yiddishe Shtunde has ended due to the departure of our teacher, Betty Quiroga, who has moved from the area. We are exploring other programs to fill the spot on Friday afternoons. Any suggestions for a Yiddish-oriented hour will be welcomed.
