Antisemitism, Hate, and Holocaust Education

JCRC commemorates the Holocaust with educational programming for students and the entire community. Every year, we plan programs for Yom HaShoah, Diversity Day (for area students), and Kristallnacht in collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo's Ruth Fajerman Markowicz Holocaust Resource Center. Our commitment to genocide education and combatting hate stems from Jewish history and our collective responsibility for one another.

Some of our recent past programs include:

  • Screening of "A Promise to Our Fathers" and memorial service
  • Lecture with Jonathan Tobin, editor of Jewish News Syndicate, about antisemitism on the right and left
  • Annual Shine a Light on Antisemitism community rally
  • Community lecture with Father Patrick Desbois
  • Shine a Light on Hate: Creating a Compassionate Community, a conference featuring 17 partner organizations and 11 breakout sessions
